InkUp is owned and operated by Greg Hoskins — well known throughout the industry for his award-winning portrait tattoo work.

"Tattoos are unique and hold great meaning to us in different ways — we take the time to talk through your ideas and work with you to develop them into pieces you'll be happy to wear for life."

Frequently asked questions

Do a bit of research first — find an artist whose style appeals to you, and make sure the studio follows proper sterilisation and contamination controls. Bring in reference pictures, sketches or cuttings so we've got a starting point to work from; we also keep a large selection of designs on hand. When you book, come in with your design so we can size the appointment correctly — a deposit is required at booking.
Smaller isn't always better. Tattoos age along with your skin, so a design that looks crisp today can lose detail over time. Larger, simpler designs tend to hold up best — worth keeping in mind if you want your tattoo looking sharp 15+ years from now.
Yes — how much depends on the individual and where on the body the tattoo is placed. Some areas are more sensitive than others.
It depends on size, placement and level of detail. We can give you a proper time estimate once your design and sizing are finalised.
Cost comes down to size, detail and placement, so we can't quote over the phone. Once we've sized your design we can give you an accurate estimate — larger continuous pieces are charged per hour.
Come in relaxed, hydrated and well fed. We won't tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and please don't come in sunburnt. We'll shave the area ourselves, so there's no need to pre-shave. For larger pieces done in stages, the previously worked area needs to be fully healed before we continue.
All sterilisation is carried out on site using autoclave sterilisers, disposable equipment and physical barriers, with single-use application throughout. InkUp adheres to the Skin Penetration Standards and receives an annual inspection from the Health Department covering equipment and procedures.
Your tattoo will be covered after the session — leave the dressing on for about an hour, then wash gently with warm soapy water and pat dry. Apply a thin layer of Bepanthen three times a day for about a week, washing your hands before each application. Itching between days 3–5 and some tissue shedding is normal healing, so try not to scratch. Initial healing usually takes 7–10 days, with any dryness or shine settling down over 3–4 weeks.
